North Bay & District Multicultural Centre Program Coordinator Ann Welsh was honoured in Toronto June 23, 2009 with the Newcomer Champion Award. Ontario Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Michael Chan presented the award at the Ontario Heritage Centre in recognition of National Multiculturalism Day. Ann also presented the Minister with a group photo taken when he visited the English as a Second Language class at Chippewa Secondary School May 22.
