Day 2008

MP
Anthony Rota opened the Canada Day multicultural showcase at the Kiwanis
bandshell on North Bay's Waterfront. He left his Canada Day cake-serving
duties with MPP Monique Smith and North Bay Mayor Vic Fedeli to wish
a happy Canada Day to everyone gathered for the entertainment.

Twenty-five
soccer players enjoyed the Canada Day Uni-World Soccer Match at Amelia
Park. The event, the first of its kind in North Bay, was organized
by Nipissing University and the North Bay & District Multicultural
Centre. Many spectators were in the stands to cheer their friends
and family members on. The Green team won in a shoot-out.

Bilingual
singer Ann Degagné entertained a large crowd at the waterfront
on Canada Day.

Yves
Kalala entertained young people with his story-telling abilities at
the Kiwanis bandshell on the North Bay waterfront on Canada Day.

Renata
Dolata's Polish songs were a big hit at the Canada Day multicultural
showcase organized by the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre.

Davis
Yu Zhu's piano playing impressed the large crowd of spectators at
the Kiwanis bandshell on Canada Day.

J.
P. Fournier of Ecole publique secondaire Odyssée was a lively
and talented bilingual master of ceremonies and entertainer at the
Canada Day celebration on the North Bay waterfront July 1. The North
Bay & District Multicultural Centre thanks J.P. for his excellent
work and Odyssée for providing a sound system and technician
for the afternoon.
