Digital Community Manager

Contract Position: March 01 to December 31 2019
Salary: $26 per hour, 35 hours per week

The Digital Messaging for Settlement and Integration (DMSI) pilot project is designed to explore how digital tools, in particular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Messenger and text messages/SMS, can close the information gap between newcomers and settlement services, and provide added value to those services. This project is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

The Digital Community Manager will:

  • Use the Messenger digital messaging model as the basis for this project.

  • Develop guidelines and/or policies and protocols for using this digital messaging model as a settlement tool to bring clients together and disseminate information to clients.

  • Develop an action plan for the implementation of this project, including timelines and milestones

  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation system with the support of the funder, including indicators and tools to monitor and evaluate the impact of the model during the implementation and at the end

  • Produce monitoring and evaluation reports to measure the effectiveness of the model tested

  • Engage in outreach and promotion activities for this tool

  • Launch this model by creating interest based groups of clients

  • Further use this model to communicate settlement information to clients

  • Produce quarterly reports on the progress of activities

  • Produce best practices and lessons documents related to the implementation of the model/platform, following guidance from the funder

  • Undergo training and coaching as needed

  • Participate in ongoing learning and sharing of the digital messaging pilot findings with other service providers and stakeholders

  • Participate in regular meetings and maintain communication with the funder regarding progress and resolving challenges with project implementation

  • Produce other reports as needed

 
Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in relevant field

  • Project management certification and at least three to five years relevant experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Working knowledge and experience in program planning, outcome evaluation, program promotion, marketing and public relations

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to meet program objectives and to work with tight deadlines

  • Sensitive to and demonstrated knowledge of dealing with the needs of participants from different cultural and racial backgrounds

  • Valid driver’s license
