The Evening of Applause selection committee is seeking nominations for the Nipissing District Human Rights Hall of Fame, in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (IDERD).

This award is community-driven, where nominations come from Nipissing District.

The winner will be honoured at the 33rd Annual Evening of Applause event, held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.  This year's event will be held in May 2020 at West Ferris Intermediate & Secondary School.

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS: Noon on Friday, March 12th

2019 Human Rights Hall of Fame

Dr. Michael DeGagné named 2019's inductee into the Nipissing District Human Rights Hall of Fame

Inductees into the Human Rights Hall of Fame have shown leadership in human rights or anti-racism activities, making a difference locally, regionally, nationally or internationally.

The Hall of Fame and the Evening of Applause are held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination March 21st each year. North Bay & area has the longest running International Day project in Canada. 2019 marked the 32nd anniversary of this local event.
